Welcome to the WDC Artistic Dance Department!

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Artistic Dance Department within the World Dance Council. This new exiting project gives an interesting new angel to the teaching methods that traditionally has been used for many years in the dance schools around the World.
I am absolutely convinced that the Artistic Dance Department will create a lot of new business for the dance schools in the world and it will also boost the interest amongst dance school pupils to take part in this new kind of dance competitions and that in turn will mean we can keep their interest for dancing much longer.

It is a well-known fact that there are much more girls than boys interested in dancing. Many girls will never be able to find a partner in order to start a competition carrier. In all ADD disciplines all girls can participate at all competitions as either as solo dancers or as duos with two girls dancing together, or as a dancer in a small team with up to 8 dancers which could include any number of boys as well, or in a large team indeed, with up to 16 dancers which could consist of all girls or any combination together with boys.

Artistic Dance is defined as a discipline where dancers have the possibility to choreograph a piece of performance to their own music, and dance on their own in the final. The evaluation and placing of such performance is based on a Technical and Artistic merit.

Please feel free to surf around in our department and if you feel that this could be of interest to you and your dance school or dance club, you can submit your membership application. It is possible to apply as a single entity such as a dance school, a dance club or a dance company or of course as a multi member entity such as Dance school organizations, Dance sport Federations or any other kind of registered Association. There are no limits how many members that could be registered in a country.

Until the department is up and running in its full capacity all fees will be waived. The membership fee, the licence fee for competitors and the competition fee for possible competition organizers. There will be no cost to join and experience this exciting new project until earliest the last part of 2014.
